The Full Moon phase is when the Moon has moved in its orbit so that Earth is between the Moon & the Sun. With this movement, the moon becomes completely visible & illuminated - emitting a brilliance that is calling us to embrace its energy. This moon phase is meant for us to reflect & release. It is a time to be mindful & be honest about what is or is not working for ourselves.
The Full Moon of April is actually the first Full Moon of Spring. This Full Moon is known as the Pink Moon. Although having a visibly pink colored moon would be quite enchanting, it is not actually pink. In fact, it will take more of a golden hue, shining as beautifully & brightly as always. The Pink Moon was given its name because of its correspondence with the blooming of the Phlox Subulata Wildflower, also known as Creeping Phlox or Pink Moss Phlox. The April Full Moon does have alternative names such as the Breaking Ice Moon or the Budding Moon - all having the same reference of the theme that we are bidding Winter goodbye & welcoming Spring!
Another perspective in which we can see the seasonal change is as rebirth... the push of new life & the promise of abundance to come. With that being said, the emotions & energy we will feel with the Full Moon being in Libra, will fall perfectly into line with that theme. We have a call, a message, waiting for us now to release the lingering emotions & stagnant energy in order to make the space & loving environment needed for new roots to sprout. This Moon can bring old wounds to the surface, but this is our invitation to find inner balance & peace, while also facing them.
The Pink Moon is offering us a chance to heal, an opportunity to grow, but of course this does not come without challenges. Libra is the sign of balance, its energy is drawing peace & harmony to our lives. But finding a balance in our lives can be challenging, there may be a lot of push & pull from both sides of a situation when dealing with matters of the heart. Libra encourages us to make intellectual decisions at this moment, not sentimental ones. Once we can confidently say we feel centered within, we can truly empathize with others.
Here are a few ways you can embrace the full potential of the Pink Moon’s energy:
Set Intentions: Put aside a few moments for this… Consider what each of these intentions truly means to you & how they will help you become the best you.
Cleanse & Ground Yourself: Practice grounding & a cleansing ritual. The goal is to remove the negative, unwanted energy that is lingering. Look within to see what calls to you or what your body, mind, & soul is yearning for. There is no right or wrong way to cleanse yourself, it can be as simple as taking a few deep breaths or it can be done with a spiritual tool such as crystals or sage.
Practice Releasing: Perform a releasing ceremony… Write down all the things you want to let go of. Read your list & affirm to yourself why you need or want to let this go. Once you have taken a few mindful moments, burn the list, visualizing yourself physically, emotionally, mentally, & spiritually “releasing”.
Meditate: Connecting with your higher self is a beautiful thing to do any day. Take some time to meditate with the moon today. You can use a guided meditation or simply sit in silence with yourself, focusing on your breath.
Express Gratitude: Acknowledge the blessings in your life. Reflect on the things that you are grateful for & how they have had a positive impact on your life. Gratitude is the key to welcoming new energy & provides a positive, harmonious energy.
Crystal Healing: Crystals utilize the different combinations of natural materials, minerals, & compositions to work with our energetic systems to bring a sense of purity, balance, & realignment. The April Full Moon calls for us to work with crystals that benefit the Heart Chakra, such as Rose Quartz, Lepidolite, Aventurine, & Rhodonite.
This can be an emotional week for many of us… it is important to remember not to judge ourselves. Being emotional or feeling sentimental does not mean we are doing something wrong, but it can be a call for us to pay a little extra attention to certain areas of our lives or ourselves. Surrender more, listen to what your inner self is telling you, listen for a message or call from the Universe. Take a moment to make sure you are nurturing the relationship you have with yourself. This can be a time where we may find ourselves learning lessons on being more authentic. We are all a work in progress… Be gentle with yourself, have compassion for yourself, love yourself, heal yourself. Make yourself a priority!
A beautiful, powerful Pink moon! Blessings to you Grandmother Flordemayo and All 🪷💕🌺
