Earth Day: A Sacred Call to Remember

Today, we pause in reverence. Earth Day is a deep calling to remember who we are in relation to this sacred planet we call home. We are not separate from the Earth. We are her children — born of her waters, formed from her soil, warmed by her fire, & carried by her winds. Every heartbeat echoes her rhythms, & every breath is a gift of her generosity. She feeds us, shelters us, & holds us in her infinite embrace. In return, she asks for our love, our attention, & our care.

This Earth Day, may we reawaken to the truth that we are in sacred partnership with the Earth. She is not a resource to be used — she is a living spirit to be honored. A teacher, a healer, a divine presence in our lives. When we walk gently upon her, she speaks to us — through the rustle of the trees, the songs of birds, the sparkle of sunlit waters, the silence of the mountains.
In a world that often forgets this sacred connection, we are being called to remember. To slow down. To listen. To give thanks.
We invite you to take a moment to sit in stillness with the Earth today. Place your hands on the ground. Close your eyes. Breathe with her. Let her hold your worries, let her whisper wisdom into your spirit. The Earth has a heartbeat, & it is not so different from your own.

A Prayer for Mother Earth
"Beloved Mother Earth,
We see you. We feel you. We love you.
You are not just beneath our feet — you are within our hearts.
Thank you for your beauty, your patience, & your endless giving.
Forgive us for the harm we have caused in forgetting your sacredness.
Today, we remember.
Today, we recommit to living in harmony with you.
May our choices reflect gratitude.
May our lives be a blessing to all your creatures.
Guide us to live with humility, with reverence, with love.
May we walk forward together, hand in hand with you,
Rooted in respect, & blossoming in hope.
Aho. Amen. So it is."
Making an Earth Altar
Creating an Earth Altar is a beautiful way to honor Mother Earth, connect to the elements, & express gratitude. This sacred space becomes a reflection of your relationship with nature & your spiritual path.

Steps to Create Your Earth Altar
Set Your Intention: Begin by pausing in gratitude. Say a simple prayer or affirmation like: “I honor the Earth & create this space in reverence and love.”
Choose a Location: Find a peaceful spot indoors or outdoors — by a window, in your garden, or at the base of a tree.
Gather Earth-Honoring Items: Include what feels sacred to you, such as ...
Stones, leaves, flowers, soil, or seeds
A candle for fire or a water bowl
Offerings like fruit, herbs, or handwritten prayers
Bless Your Altar: With hands over your heart, say: “May this altar be a space of peace, gratitude, & connection to all life.”
Tend It with Love: Visit your altar often. Add offerings, sit in quiet reflection, or say a prayer. Let it evolve with the seasons or moon phases.
May this simple practice deepen your relationship with the Earth & awaken a sense of sacred belonging!

Other Ways to Honor the Earth from the Heart
Offer a prayer or blessing to the land you walk on
Sit with a tree & ask it what wisdom it holds for you
Tend to a garden or plant some seeds with love
Clean up a local park, trail, or body of water in gratitude
Prepare a meal using local, seasonal ingredients & offer thanks
Dance barefoot on the soil & feel your body in communion with Earth
Listen to the wind, the birds, the river — let nature speak
Let this Earth Day be more than a celebration — let it be a remembrance. A reconnection. A renewal of our promise to walk this path as Earth Keepers.
The Earth doesn’t need perfection. She needs our presence. Our love. Our intention.
~ Blessings!
